Canto Yee Mee, Avsolut Style

What's for dinner? Let's go 1Malaysia tonight! hihi head to the kitchen and make Canto Yee Mee! easy one~ hihi

My mom taught me this recipe, and i took my knowledge to Perth where I was studying~
It's actually an egg sauce on dry noodles. I love Yee Mee, personally I wouldn't substitute it with any other. But others can try Won Ton Noodles, Yellow Noodle. And yes, you could go to your local hawker stalls and buy it cheap. But if you're like me, I can't tolerate high MSG, my throat will literally tighten itself up. So, I make my own~ :'D

All you need is:

2 cloves garlic (chopped)
100g chicken fillet, cubed
1 bunch of daun Sawi / Mustard leaves (i assume)
baby corns
6 big prawns
corn flour (for thickening)
light soy sauce
1 cup water
2 cup home-made chicken stock/broth
1-2 eggs (according to preference)
1 tube of egg tofu, sliced and fried
fried shallots (garnishing)

Now all you do is:

1) Saute the garlic, with the chicken and prawns. add a dash of light soy sauce for taste.

2) When all is cooked, and you can smell the aromatic-ness of the garlic infused chicken and prawns.. ;') time to add water mixed with corn flour. The water + corn flour makes the gravy. So maybe 1tbsp of corn flour for 2cups of water.

3) As soon as its starting to boil, crack an egg or two, and stir slowly on high heat. Lastly add the veges and fried tofu.

4) Place a portion of dried yee mee on a bowl/plate, and pour the egg sauce onto the noodles, garnish with fried shallots and voila!

Serve with 'cili potong' or cut chillies in soy sauce.

Enjoy your dinner!

till then,
love yall~

My birthday was 8th Feb, L'occitane game me as a birthday pressie, a RM20 voucher.. expiring mid March..
well, not wanting to waste a discount of RM20, so me and hubby visit d nearest L'occitaneoutlet, The Curve.

As we reached there, I went browsing thru their wooden shelves. A lot of interesting products they have. But most of them are too expensive for me to buy cuz I just wanna use the voucher. Didn want anything in particular~ What caught our eyes were:
Aromachologie Hair Care; Volumateur esp, cuz i got thin hair~
But it was too expensive for a small bottle. So next~

And not to mention, we bought 5 olive shampoo during our recent Turkiye trip. hihi so need to finish the lot first! hihi

Here's a picture of the Turkish Olive Shampoo. Its really good, it makes d hair thicker and blacker (?) hehe yeah i jus added d 'penyu' for effect.. haha

Another product that caught my eye was

Repairing Hair Masque; for color treated hair. It claims to repair, stimulate and regenerate! hihi but again, was too expensive and i still have half of the L'oreal Total Repair. So gotta finish that one first ;')

And soooo we ended up with something both of us can use, and something we've never tried before~

TADAAA~

Creme Caramel, Avsolut Style

Who doesn like the classic dessert, Creme Caramel? Well maybe there's a lot. cuz they not only like em, but LOVE em! hihi

I learned this particular recipe from my bro, he's a creme caramel addict. he goes to CCA (creme caramel anon) lol jk~ nways, i loooove his version of it! here we go!

velvety creme part:
1 can of evaporated milk
1/2 can of water
1/2 can of milk
4 med eggs or 5 small ones
scrapes of vanilla beans
1/4 c sugar (depends how you want the sweetness level to be)

sweet caramel part:
3/4 c sugar
1/4 c water

Caramel
1) Heat the sugar and water in a non-stick pan (like most ppl, i use teflon!)
2) Dunt be tempted to stir~ hihi let em boil and change into caramel color.
3) Pour into plastic cups.

Creme
1) Break the eggs into a mixing bowl. Whisk em till they're near fluffy. ;')
2) Add the evap milk, water and milk all together. Mix well.
3) Then mix together the vanilla beans and sugar in the egg mixture.
4) I usually heat the mixture in a pot, to dissolve the sugar. *Be careful not to boil!
5) If your mixture is lumpy, its ok, you can seive it ;')
6) Then you can pour the creme mixture into each individual plastic cup, filled w caramel previously.
7) Pop em in a steamer, around 12-15mins, it'll be cooked! * Do not over cook, as they will not come out as velvety~
8) Let cool and chill in the fridge til its tyme to eat! ;'D

Voila

ENJOY! tell me how you guys go with this easy recipe!

till next tyme,
love yall

Banoffee Pie, Avsolut Style

Banana + Toffee Pie! how yummier can it be?? argh! i love em! hihi so ive been having queries on how did i make my banoffee pies.. now i want to make a post to answer it! later, i'll just direct them to my blog! ;')

For the Biscuit Base:
100g butter, melted
250g Marie biscuits, crushed
1/4 c icing sugar

Toffee:
100g butter
1 can of condensed milk

Topping:
3-4 bananas
400ml whipping cream, (i used emborg)

*use an 8" loose-bottomed cake tin, greased.

1) Crush the biscuits in a food processor for a fast result. or if you dunt hev one, jus place them in a plastic bag, n crush them with a rolling pin ;') quite similar result, only extra effort needed.
Then mix the crushed bickies with melted butter. and add the icing sugar. mix well! Line em in the cake tin, and chill while we start with the toffee!
Most recipes dunt add sugar in their base bickies. but i opted the sugar in the toffee part so i add em in the base bickies.

2) Use a non-stick pan with high walls, melt the butter. Then add the condensed milk into the melted butter. Must continue stirring until it boils, (my first tyme: i was afraid of cookin d milk too long, the result was eeky, it still tasted like condensed milk which was not nice). So once its boiling, pour em over the base bickies! *be careful! they're REALLY HOT! Cool, and chill in the fridge till it sets.

3) If you have tyme, do the topping part right before you serve. Cuz you dunt wanna brown the bananas ( n i dunt like d taste when bananas mixed w lemon juice to counter the browning effect). So, for the topping: whip the cream til it forms soft whipped creams. *rmb, soft whipped is better than d stiff ones for this recipe! Then slice half of the bananas, and fold em into the whipped cream. Then spoon the mixture onto the toffee filling. Dust cocoa powder for further deco :'P lastly, slice the remaining bananas, and arrange em on the top as decorations.

and you're done! *yay hope you 'll hev fun making this easy peasy, but yummy dessert! n tell me how it goes k?

Voila!

till then,
love yall
